Thought I'd try to get this together despite my managled hand. This is the bead I wanted to use with the raspberry garnets and labradorite. Decided to use just silver since I don't have a single silver necklace. I think it turned out OK despite my awkward use of the pliers. Let's take a vote on the dangling chain with the leaf. Leave it or ditch it? I did start the small triangle shawl before I was injured;) but haven't knitted anymore for a week since the yarn catches on either the flap of skin or the band-aid. So gross! Do you like it so far. I love the yarn but am wondering if it would look better used in a simpler pattern. Like a moss stitch shoulder shrug?? Opinions, please.
Hope everything is rosy in your little corner of the world. Love~Patti

Ummm...I don't like the sound of "mangled hand". What ever in the world did you do?
I like the necklace and I think I like the leaf. Maybe it should dangle a little shorter?
And I really like how the shawl is coming along. The yarn shows off the pattern really well. If you're worried about drape, I've found that things will often drape better after blocking. Like K's scarf--it was really stiff before blocking and I couldn't believe how much softer it got after a good soak and block.
I hope that whatever you did heals soon!
Seems I lost control of the patio umbrella while trying to remove it from it's stand. I managed to shatter the glass table top and take a big nasty chuck of my hand in the process. It's pretty gross and hurts alot but is looking better.
I removed the leaf and puy a square charm on instead. It is more the style of the necklace. I also shortened the chain. Thanks for the input.
I will forge on with the shawl. I am at the point in the pattern where I wonder if I know how to do it. I've already ripped it out 2x. Time for a life line and courage!
Nice typos. Should have read it before posting but you get my point, right?
Ouch! I hope you heal quickly, and I'm glad that it wasn't worse than that.
Read the Panopticon's latest post, and you might feel a bit better about ripping out!
I needed that! Makes my shawl look absolutely wimpy. So I will get on with it and quitmybellyaching.
I wasn't trying to make your shawl look wimpy!
I know you weren't. It was the inspiration I needed. I hadn't read his blog in awhile. He is so funny! I want to learn how to do a whole sentence or more with really bad words without ever using one bad word. As in..."Truck! Pluck! You smother clucking Tina Yotherbucker! What the ducking plucking truck! Zit! Zit!"
that post was funny. But there's something wrong with me -- I would have left the damn mistake and never though a bit about it.
the fake swearing was wicked funny!
What about a small bright bead (just one) on the dangle too?)
I had to reread the post a couple times to even find the mistake!
I like Panopticon a lot.
And the bright bead idea is a good one, K.
