The Amazing Origami Bag!

Yes, you heard it right. The amazing origami bag is made from one, that's right, I said one square of lined fabric, It is then magically folded and you end up with a bag that has an middle pouch with a pocket on either side.

Just to prove that this is not a hoax, three of you have been randomly selected to receive one of these unique bags. These bags are being sent to you FREE of charge, satisfaction guaranteed or you may return for a full refund. ( Wait! Didn't I just say they were free? Ok, so change that to no obligation.)

Use the bag for 30 days and I can guarantee it will change your life forever. Wow, I'm really getting carried away. This bag can be used to carry all those little knitting items that end up in the bottom of your big knitting bag, like tape measures and stitch holders, etc. I am sure it would function as a travel jewelry pouch so all those hand crafted necklaces are safely transported. Of course, and maybe most important it could carry meds or better yet, your secret stash of .........chocolate. This bag is so diverse it could even be a little purse for those crazy nights that we go clubbing.

I will be anxious to hear what other uses you come up with for the "amazing origami bag". So look for yours in the mail. It should be arriving in a day or two.

Oooh! I hope I get picked!!! Cuz what are my two favorite things??? Bags and pockets!

As long as a condition of being picked isn't that I have to figure out how one piece of fabric was contorted to create such a wonderful thing! Because then I may be out of luck.

very cool bags. i like the fabric colors. if i'm one of the chosen, i could use it to hold lucy treats.

ooh oooh ooh! me please. I have all sort of wonderful things that i need to carry back and forth between home and the job I never go to! Please please?

I bet -- just bet -- that mom used a pattern for this one. Right?

I love the fabrics!!

And I'm sending out treat packages soon too!

Oh, wow, a pattern! I forgot about those. Though after using such a thing to make skirts last weekend I remembered why I hate them. And it had nothing to do with it being ripped to shreds after Abi "helped" me cut out the pieces. Though you would think that in this day and age they could find a slightly more durable substance with which to make said patterns.

I'm ranting, aren't I?

You will all be glad to know that no pattern was used. It is after all only a square. I did however, have to refer to the directions but only once and that was because my bag was looking like a paper airplane.

That could have been interesting...

And I am thoroughly impressed with the lack of pattern! There may be hope for you yet! :)

i'm sitting by the mailbox today. I want my origami bag! i'm already scheming about what I could put in it ...

I finished the quilt last night and spent almost as much time picking/clipping threads as I did sewing the damn thing. I think we need a new verb for that activity...

How's everyone doing today?

Oooh! Making up words! I'll get on it!

I , alas, cannot wait by my mailbox to see if I'm a lucky winner, as I do not have a tarring project going on at my office. But I am still dreaming of uses for an origami bag....

How about schnibutzing?

how about schnitzpicking?

Anonymous said...

I love schnitzpicking! I also put pickastringy but that seems just wrong somehow!

Anonymous said...

OK, I'll concede to schnitzpicking.

Which I was doing in the bathroom at work yesterday because I forgot to do it at home after I ripped out and resewed a seam of my skirt.

you guys are weird. making up words. and what's the problem with patterns? i'm with patti on this one. there can still be plenty of creativity with using a pattern. that's just my opinion. i am also waiting by the mail box for my pattern-less creation.

Yep, we are!!! :)

Some of us (OK, K & I) have issues with patience, details, and delay of gratification (and probably other things as well), thus making us somewhat at odds with pattern use. This trait of ours gives Patti the hives which in turn leads us to be endlessly amused at waving our patternlessness about in front of her.

Which probably makes us even weirder.

I think E summed that up well. Making up words to describe our process kinda fits with us making up the process. Patterns give me hives, just like mom NOT using a pattern gives her many!

the world needs all types -- and I'm sure pattern lovers end up, overall, wasting a lot less time than me!

(remind me to tell you the story about the middle square of the quilt I just made ...

you girls are funny. thanks for giving me your perspective. i do have to say i don't always use them and i never get hives, sorry patti.
when will we see this recently completed quilt, miss kristen?

I'm a lucky winner! I'm a lucky winner! Woo hoo! I got the brown one with Erica blue flowers! It's just gorgeous, and I have absolutely no idea what I'll use it for, as it's almost too pretty to use!!!

Thank you thank you, Patti!

I'm a winner too! the postlady knocked on my door 'specially to hand deliver it!! (scared the crap out of me since no one's ever knocked on that door!)

Mine is red with swirls and a hearty dose of uggy green!

I'm still pondering the use for mine, but I'll let you know when I come up with something ...

Thanks mom! You're the best!!

And lest anyone think that we're biased, a fellow seamstress here at work thinks it's lovely and wants to know where you got such great silk.

And I just have to add why I referred to her as a seamstress--because I realized that the word for "one who sews" is spelled exactly the same way as "a repository for waste water". A really unfortunate flaw of the English language, I have to say.

So glad you like them. How 'bout you Amy? Are you the 3rd lucky winner or still waiting to find out?

Will be anxiously waitng to see what you use them for.

Of all the things i think your origami bag could be used for, I don't think you should try it as a repository for waste water. Unless you REALLY get caught short!

i am lucky winner number 3!!!! thank you so much, i love it. it might just go perfectly with a new dress i bought for the wedding we are going to tomorrow night, i'll let you know. still don't know what i'll use mine for either.
patti~your son is very jealous that i get presents in the mail from his mom and he doesn't. a little jealousy never hurt anyone, right? :)
thank you, thank you!!!

So that was fun. Everyone seems to like their origami bag. What's next?

If Adam let's me know what colors he'd like, I'll stitch him up a bag ASAP. Maybe to go with his first day of school outfit?

Anonymous said...

He can carry his lunch in it.

Anonymous said...

or his red pens!

I would recommend a print with red apples on it.

Anonymous said...

He can put his lunch in the main compartment and his pens in the pockets!

And that would be a PERFECT fabric choice!

he would love a pretty little bag for his lunch and red pens made from apple fabric. you girls know him so well. i'm not sure if he has a first day of school outfit. i'll have to check on that.
