Rain, rain go away!!

I thought some new pictures might lift our spirits! What an absolutely dismal way to end the summer.

Anyhow, the red necklace is ruby jade and very sparkly. The clasp is cool because it's a teardrop shaped loop with a bird toggle. I only explain that because the picture doesn't show it up very well.

The other necklace is all glass beads. I thought it looked very Fallish but I am not sure It will go with anything since the colors are a little weird. It weighs a ton!

The bag was fun to make. It's four pieces made seperately. The pieces are lined and have pockets and then the 4 pieces are hand sewn together. It's alot of Hand sewing and then you have to make 8 tiny buttonholes. Truth is, I like the origami just as well and it is far less intense.

Well, that's all I've got for now. Keep dry and be thinking about that show we want to do and our next weekend together. There is a show in EA at the end of Sept. called the FiberFest. Last year was it's 1st year. A friend who did the show last year and is doing it again this year said it was a pretty good show(juried) and the entrance fee is not to high. I will check it out for sure. Only problem ~it is an outdoor show which could be tricky in late Sept.

I have 3 new magazines so I am off to read them and hopefully not fall asleep before I get inspired.

Keep dry! Patti

My goodness you were busy! I love the red necklace and the clasp is fabulous. I like the other one, too, though I have to say, unexpected colors coming from your studio!

And all I have to say about the bag is that if I were making it, it would've ended up in a crumpled heap in the corner long ago. Just amazing!

I did a few crafty things this weekend, but mostly I culled stuff that we had in closets at our house while Rob was making a fence (see espotts.blogspot.com)--very satisfying, actually.

I love love love the red necklace -- I'll have to see the yellow one in person! ;)

I did nothing crafty this weekend, but I saw a great idea for a cool ring (at anthropologie of all places). They had taken one of those small donuts that we saw all over the place in santa fe, covered the hole with a little gold doo-dad, and used tape (is there such a thing as gold tape?) around the edging -- then set it on the ring. Couldn't WE figure that out?

speaking of rings, there's a new blueprint, and it shows how to make rings from buttons. VERY cool. I'll share mine if ya'll can't find it.

love the bag mom. looks hard!

Anthropologie was not being cooperative when I tried to load their site, but I think I figured out which one you were talking about. I vaguely suspect that it's a little more than gold tape, but I could be wrong.

You know, I know someone who makes jewelery--makes settings, etc. K, you've met Karen at her show in Va and probably at our house, as well. Perhaps she'd teach us some basics at one of our girls' weekends, if we paid for supplies and gave her food and alcohol?

I have met Karen and I think bribing her to come teach us stuff is a wonderful idea!!

I have to be in DC for a meeting on the 20th. What would ya'll think about rendevousing somewhere (DC or B-lo) for a girls weekend after that, hmmm?
