IN THE BAG!

This is the small bag I just finished. Thanks to Kristen's suggestion it has a way cool fringy tassel closing which I kept trying to take a close up of but it was very blurry. The front of the tag is a mermaid and the back says' There are alot of fish in the sea but only a few mermaids'. I tried some branch fringe for the first time and it was really fun.

wowza that is so cool! How'd you do the cool coral-like looking fringe? Is that branch fringe? Do share!

That really is a great idea -- just a little bag. I have enough cool fabric combinations I could make about 100 of those!

I will see if I can find instructions for the branches and then post them if they make sense. I learned them quickly at my free form bracelet class and then saw it on demonstrated on TV.

VERY pretty! I love the colors and the fringe. What's the mermaid tag made of--is it a bead?

If we combined our stashed we could probably make 1000's of these bags. A friend had given me the idea of making shoe bags, too.

The thing she put the mermaid on is actually a tile from a placemat, believe it or not. I guess we read about the idea in one of your magazines, right mom? And then I went to chinatown to find the bamboo placemats to cut up. I have a stash if you want to give it a try E -- they look like dominos, but are drilled the longway, and two parallel tracks.

Can we get more placemats? I've never seen them around here. My stash is getting used up quickly now that I've caught on.
